Terms and Conditions

In Floorings Pty Ltd (“In Floorings” or “the Company”) aims to always give you the best possible value and service. The following Terms and Conditions will explain how we will deal with your orders, quotes, invoices, measures, and installations. Please read them carefully. Acceptance of our services is an acceptance of our terms listed below.

The following outlines the responsibilities of the customer and the Company with regards to all installation works.

Please arrange before installation:

  • We must have electricity.
  • When the installer arrives, please allow for easy access and parking.
  • We must have a clean and safe environment. If the area contains any form of harmful or dangerous substances, our workers have the right to refuse to proceed, and we may issue additional charges.
  • If the thickness of your new flooring requires cutting/shaving of doors to allow for closing, this will be an additional cost. Please refer to the quote details, or check with your sales member before installation.
  • Please remove all personal and valuable items before arrival of the installers, along with furniture items. There will be additional charges to move large pieces of furniture. Our installers may refuse to move furniture items if there is any chance of damage that might result during moving. If we are asked to move furniture on the day, you will be charged an additional fee subject to the number of items.

Sub Floor:

  • Per BCA requirements, the subfloor should be prepared prior to installation if the condition is not acceptable for installation.
  • Floorboards installed on uneven surfaces may cause creaking sounds, bouncing of floating boards, and in some cases damage to the click system.
  • Existing timber substrates are more susceptible to volatile levels and movement of the planks. It is required this type of surface be levelled before installation. The end result still cannot be guaranteed 100% flat or level. The condition may require more than one levelling session to achieve a better result.

Carpet:

  • Most carpets are 3.66LM wide. Joins will be done if room is wider.

Timber:

  • Newly installed boards may need 4-5 months to settle down and minimize the noise. Due to this, some noise can be associated with any floating wood flooring after installation.
  • Natural timber products will have colour/pattern variations. Purchases a natural timber product means you acknowledge and accept there will be variations such as knots, insect marks, and gum veins.

Skirting:

  • It is the customers responsibility to patch holes and fill gaps between the skirting boards and the wall after they are installed. This is the case for both new skirting installs and re-installation of the existing skirting.
  • Choosing to refit the existing skirting means you accept the potential risk of chipping, and damaged or peeled paint at the skirting or wall.
  • No responsibility will be taken for necessary or unintentional damage or scuffs caused to the skirting or wall base due to removal and refitting of existing skirting.

Circumstances and Delays:

  • Due to circumstances beyond the control of the company, installation dates may change. Schedule times are approximate. No discounts will be given due to scheduling conflicts or the length of the job.
  • Most materials are custom order. While we are provided with an estimated delivery date, exact delivery date is beyond our control.
  • There is no guarantee on the availability date of back ordered material. Customers will be informed immediately of any changes to back orders.

Cancellation/Reschedule/Issues Policy:

  • By agreeing to the terms of your invoice, you hereby agree to a late cancellation fee of $250 should the job be reschedule or cancelled within 48 hours of agreed installation date.
  • If our installers are unable to access the property, or start/complete their works due to circumstances outside their control, we will issue a fee of $250 to $600. Such circumstances are open to dangerous pets on-site, dangerous or violent persons who interfere or threaten our installers, unsafe working conditions; IE toxins, gases, unstable structures, sickness, pests, unknown or illicit substances.
  • For cancellations or reschedules please contact your In Floorings representative on (02) 8056 5959, or via email.

Products:

The samples provided to you are intended to give a general impression of the colour and pattern. When fitted to a larger area some patterns can have an inherent striped effect, or additional patterns and colours which may not be obvious from the sample. Carpet colour shades may vary in dye lot from sample. Products may appear differently across alternate light sources, including natural and artificial. This is includes the colour, shade, pattern, and print.

You understand the effects of permanent pile reversal (shading, pile reversal, water marking, pudding) on cut pile carpets. This cannot be predicted or prevented, and this has no detrimental effect on the durability of the carpet. Permanent pile reversal is not a manufacturing fault and that the manufacturer and In Floorings cannot accept claims that may be affected by permanent pile reversal.

Laminate flooring will be affected by moisture. Follow the suppliers fitting and maintenance instructions carefully to prevent swelling of the joints or other moisture-related problems.

Installation:

Our floor installers are expected to carry out their work with reasonable skill and care, but even with the greatest care home décor may be marked or scuffed during the installation process. New paintwork and wallpaper is especially vulnerable and should be allowed to fully dry. Removing of exiting skirting may also cause damage to the skirting, wall and painting. In Floorings shall not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage caused during the installation process, except where loss or damage has been caused by that person’s negligence.

Warranties:

In Floorings offers lifetime warranty on installation works where floor prep was completed by the Company. Standard installation warranty without preparation works is active for 1 year following the installation.

Material warranties are provided separately and made available on the manufacturer websites or ask your sales representative.
